Vibrant public schools, built with committed and caring teachers, determine our future.

"The General Assembly shall provide for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of public education to serve the needs of the Commonwealth." (May 16, 1967, P.L.1037, J.R.3)
Never has there been a more critical time for us to ensure that we live up to our responsibility as stewards of public education. The state budget used to fund education at 54% and now the state barely funds one-third of the Department of Education. This difference comes out of your pocketbooks at the local level through property taxes. It's time for the State to pay its fair share of education funding in order to provide local property tax relief.
Christina Sappey is the proud mom of three kids who each received an excellent education in our public schools and is honored to be endorsed by PSEA, Pennsylvania State Education Association and AFT, American Federation of Teachers.
She knows first-hand that it takes strong partnership between families, communities, teachers, and administrators to produce a 21st-century ready workforce. We need to test less and encourage more creativity to foster innovative thinkers.
Christina will support the partnership of schools and local businesses to create job-ready vocational training programs for students at secondary and higher-educational levels.
